Özgürcan Çevik — Biography

Özgürcan Çevik was born in Ankara on 24 October 1983. He attended Ahmet Vefik Paşa Primary School, the middle school of the private Köksal Toptan school in Çayyolu, and Ayrancı High School. He first studied tourism and hotel management at Hacettepe University, graduating in 2004, and then turned to the stage, completing the theatre and acting department of Bilkent University's Faculty of Music and Performing Arts between 2004 and 2009.

After graduating he joined the Ankara Art Theatre company, appearing in plays such as Azizname and Beş Para Etmez Varyete. His performances in Kod Adı: Keklik and in Selamün Kavlen Karakolu, Yücel Erten's stage version of an Aziz Nesin story, twice earned him Best Supporting Actor at the Lions Theatre Awards. In 2012 he acted in Bulut Tiyatro's Tetikçi.

On screen he appeared in Bizim Evin Halleri and Türkan, and in productions such as Dağ, Fatih Harbiye and Ruhumun Aynası. Wide recognition came with the title role of the 2013 film Şevkat Yerimdar, a character he carried into the sequel Şevkat Yerimdar 2: Bizde Sakat Çok and into the series adaptation broadcast on Fox Tv in 2017. His other work includes Damat Takımı, Sol Şerit, Osman in Kanal D's İkizler Memo-Can in 2018, and Suphi Dayı in Annem Ankara in 2024.
