Fatih Harbiye

Fatih Harbiye is a Turkish drama and romance television series adapted from Peyami Safa's 1931 novel of the same name. Produced by Koliba Film, it premiered on August 31, 2013; the first fifteen episodes aired on FOX, while the remainder ran on Show TV. Spanning two seasons, the series concluded with its 50th episode on December 10, 2014. The novel had previously been adapted into a 1992 mini-series starring Aydan Şener and Tolga Savacı.

The story pits two opposing worlds of Istanbul against each other. Neriman, a young woman from the traditional neighborhood of Fatih, dreams of becoming a painter and sculptor, while her childhood friend Şinasi harbors deep feelings for her. Her encounter with Macit, heir to the wealthy and Westernized world of Harbiye, pulls her into a conflict between two cultures, two lifestyles and two loves. The lead roles were shared by Kadir Doğulu, Neslihan Atagül and Yunus Emre Yıldırımer.
