Neslihan Atagül — Biography

Neslihan Atagül was born in Istanbul on 20 August 1992, the daughter of a Belarusian mother and a Circassian father, and studied in Yeditepe University's Theatre Department. She made her television debut playing Deniz on Yaprak Dökümü in 2006, the same year a film role in İlk Aşk earned her the Altın Koza Film Festival's Promising Young Actress prize.

Playing Zehra in the 2012 film Araf brought her the Tokyo International Film Festival's Best Actress award. Her worldwide recognition came after Fatih Harbiye, when she took on the role of Nihan in Kara Sevda -- a production distributed to more than 110 countries that went on, in 2017, to become the first Turkish series honored with an International Emmy. She next took the role of Nare in Sefirin Kızı, cut short for health reasons, then Macide in Gecenin Ucunda and Dilara in Aaahh Belinda, while starting her own online magazine, Hadsiz.

She wed Kadir Doğulu, her co-star from Fatih Harbiye, on 8 July 2016, and in 2025 the couple welcomed a son they named Aziz. A three-year absence ended in 2026 when she returned to screens fronting Ay Yapım's series Kaderin Cilvesi.
