300 Worte Deutsch is a 2013 German comedy directed by Züli Aladağ. Set in Cologne, it centres on the leader of a Turkish community who brings young women from Turkey to provide brides for the unmarried men of his congregation. When it emerges that the women speak no German and that their language certificates are forged, the immigration authorities move to deport them. Playing on the tension between tradition and modern life, integration and prejudice, the film mixes cultural comedy with a love story.
