Aliş and Zeynep (Aliş ile Zeynep) (translated)

Aliş ile Zeynep is a Turkish drama television series directed by Yücel Çakmaklı and broadcast on TRT 1 in 1984. The story is framed by the encounter of a young man who travels to Sarajevo hoping to find a wife and a young woman living alone in the city; together they listen to a great love story reaching back centuries.

In that tale, Zeynep looks into a mirror at full moon on the fourteenth of the month and sees her destined love, Aliş, unaware that her father has already promised her to a wealthy friend. Oblivious to the obstacles their class difference will create, the two young people meet at a wedding in Sarajevo. Ahmet Özhan stars as Aliş and Sonia Vejnoviç as Zeynep, with Ahmet Mekin, Neriman Köksal, Adem Çeyvan, Ali Şen and Osman Alyanak among the supporting cast.
