Crazy Yusuf (Deli Yusuf) (translated)

Deli Yusuf is a 1975 Turkish action-adventure film directed by Atıf Yılmaz and produced by Hürrem Erman for Erman Film. The screenplay is credited to Umur Bugay, Bülent Oran, Berrin Giz and Atıf Yılmaz, and according to French sources the story draws heavily on the legend of Köroğlu.

The plot centers on Abbas Bolulu, a factory owner involved in illegal dealings, who wants to demolish the shantytown homes in Çamlıbel. The residents turn to Deli Yusuf for help. Abbas, meanwhile, orders a bulletproof car from Yusuf. Yusuf builds a vehicle that is both bulletproof and able to move by voice commands, but demands in return that Abbas hand over the land deeds to the neighborhood. When Abbas goes back on his word, Yusuf's son Ali takes up the fight to reclaim the car and stand up to Abbas.

Cüneyt Arkın stars as Ali, with Zerrin Arbaş as Melek and Kadir Savun in the title role of Deli Yusuf. The supporting cast includes well-known Yeşilçam performers such as Ali Şen, Osman Alyanak and Erol Keskin.
