Song of My Mother (Annemin Şarkısı)

Song of My Mother (Kurdish: Klama Dayîka Min) is the feature debut of writer-director Erol Mintaş. A drama co-produced by Turkey, France, and Germany, it follows a family forced to leave their village in eastern Turkey during the 1990s and resettle in Istanbul. Having made a home in Tarlabaşı, the family is displaced a second time when the neighborhood is cleared under an "urban transformation" project.

Filming took place in Tarlabaşı, Esenyurt, and Doğubayazıt. The production was backed by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism's fund for first-time directors, and an Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign was launched to complete the film. Semih Kaplanoğlu served as project consultant. The film opened on 14 November 2014, stayed in theaters for thirteen weeks, and drew 11,480 viewers. Feyyaz Duman and İncinur Daşdemir star.
