Father Eagle (Baba Kartal) (translated)

Baba Kartal is a 1978 Turkish action-drama film directed by and starring Cüneyt Arkın, from a screenplay by Safa Önal and produced by Hürrem Erman.

The story follows Kartal, a father of two sons who is driven from his village by the local ağa's oppression and moves to Istanbul. Unable to hold down an honest job, he falls in with Rafet after a bar fight and is handed money and a gun, entering the underworld. Kartal climbs steadily until he becomes the second chairman of a holding company, all in the name of providing for his sons, Binali and Ahmet. Yet his criminal life destroys the family he built it for: one son grows so estranged that he points a gun at his own father, while the younger son, Ahmet, is killed on the orders of the holding's boss Osman after learning of his father's dirty dealings. Maddened by the loss, Baba Kartal takes revenge on everyone responsible. Bilâl İnci, Tuğrul Meteer, Nejat Özbek and Aytaç Yörükaslan co-star.
