Black Horse Memories

Black Horse Memories (Turkish: Kara At Hatıraları, Kurdish: Bîranîna hespa res) is a 2015 Iranian-Turkish drama film directed by Iranian Kurdish filmmaker Shahram Alidi, his second feature film. The music was composed by kamancheh player Kayhan Kalhor, and the story takes place in Turkey.

Drawing on local legends and imaginative ideas, the film offers a fresh look at the relationship between horse and human: told through the memories of the titular black horse, it follows Aseke, who dies during a mission, and his comrades' effort to fulfill his last wishes. The cast includes Şevval Sam alongside Berrak Tüzünataç, Diman Zandi, Şenay Aydın and Vildan Atasever. The film received its public release in Iran in Azar 1395 (late 2016), opening in the director's hometown.
