Eyes of Love

Eyes of Love (Les Yeux de l'amour) is a 1959 French-Italian romantic drama directed by Denys de La Patellière. Adapted from Jacques Antoine's novel Une histoire vraie, the film stars Danielle Darrieux, Jean-Claude Brialy and Françoise Rosay, with a supporting ensemble that includes Bernard Blier, Louis Seigner and Dominique Zardi. The screenplay was written by de La Patellière together with Roland Laudenbach and the celebrated dialogue writer Michel Audiard. Running around one hundred minutes, the production featured set designs by art director Paul-Louis Boutié. Rooted in the melodramatic tradition of late-1950s French cinema, it offers an emotionally driven story centered on love and human relationships.
