Journalist (Gazeteci) (translated)

Gazeteci (The Journalist) is a Turkish film directed by Yücel Uçanoğlu, written by Fuat Özlüer, produced by Berker İnanoğlu and made by Sezer Film. Shot in 1979 and released in 1980, it stars Kadir İnanır as Kemal and Sevda Karaca as the journalist Zeynep, alongside familiar faces of the era such as Kadir Savun, Hüseyin Peyda, Turgut Özatay, Aliye Rona and Gülten Ceylan.

The color, 71-minute film follows a newspaper preparing an exposé on Kemal Şahin, a key figure in a smuggling network behind much of the country's underworld, including arms trafficking. When none of the reporters dares to trail him, the young journalist Zeynep takes on the assignment, finding a job at the nightclub he frequents and gradually gathering information. It is considered a typical example of the Yeşilçam crime-action line of its period.
