Don't Fear Life (Hayattan Korkma) (translated)

Hayattan Korkma (Don't Fear Life) is a 2007 Turkish drama written and directed by Berrin Dağçınar, marking her feature film debut; it opened in Turkish cinemas on 7 March 2008. The film follows three close friends in a small town who live off what they produce themselves: Talat the dairyman, Bedrettin the chicken farmer, and Rıfkı, who bakes bread in the bakery he inherited from his father.

When Talat's son faces the danger of losing his sight due to a serious illness, the three friends set out to raise the money needed for the expensive treatment through communal effort. Zeki Alasya, Tarık Papuççuoğlu and Hakan Boyav star, alongside Sedef Avcı, Didem Balçın, Mert Fırat and Zeynep Eronat. Built around friendship and solidarity, the film blends its drama with touches of humor.
