The Grand Bazaar (Kapalıçarşı) (translated)
Kapalıçarşı (The Grand Bazaar) is a Turkish television series produced by TMC that aired on ATV between 2009 and 2010. Directed by Yasin Uslu, the show was written by Gaye Boralıoğlu and Neşe Şen.
Set in Istanbul's historic Grand Bazaar, the series ran for two seasons before being taken off the air after its 38th episode. Lead actor Nejat İşler departed the cast following episode 15, a turning point that shaped the show's subsequent course. Its large ensemble — featuring well-known names such as Olgun Şimşek, Tülin Özen, Aslı Tandoğan, Mert Fırat, Engin Altan Düzyatan, Mine Tugay and Erkan Can — helped make it one of the more notable Turkish productions of its period.
