Dancer in the Dark (Karanlıkta Dans)

Dancer in the Dark is a 2000 musical drama written and directed by Lars von Trier, an international co-production led by Denmark together with Sweden, Germany and other countries. The final chapter of the director's "Golden Heart Trilogy" following Breaking the Waves (1996) and The Idiots (1998), it was shot with handheld cameras inspired by the Dogme 95 movement and won the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival.

Icelandic musician Björk stars as Selma Jezkova, an immigrant factory worker losing her sight to a hereditary eye condition, who saves money for an operation to spare her son the same fate. The film's music, released as the album Selmasongs, was written mainly by Björk. Catherine Deneuve, Jean-Marc Barr and Udo Kier appear in the cast, and the song "I've Seen It All" was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Original Song.
