Le Voyou

Le Voyou is a 1970 Franco-Italian crime comedy and heist film directed by Claude Lelouch. The screenplay was co-written by Lelouch and Claude Pinoteau, with music by Francis Lai. Shot in French, the film stars Jean-Louis Trintignant as Simon, a con man known as "The Swiss Man".

The story follows Simon as he carries out the biggest heist of his life. To convey the elusive nature of its title character, the film employs a range of cinematic techniques, including a circular narrative, dialogue filled with conflicting statements, flashbacks, musical montage, varied editing styles, and a movie within the movie. Running about two hours, the cast also features Danièle Delorme, Charles Denner, Charles Gérard, Judith Magre, and Jacques Doniol-Valcroze.
