Nasreddin Hodja and Timur (Nasreddin Hoca ve Timurlenk) (translated)

Nasreddin Hoca ve Timurlenk is a 1954 black-and-white Turkish comedy film directed by Faruk Kenç and released on March 11, 1954. The screenplay was written by Zeki Alpan, who also produced the film.

Though its title evokes the folk tradition of tales pairing Nasreddin Hoca with the historical conqueror Timur, the plot mainly follows the clash between Nasreddin Hoca (İsmail Hakkı Dümbüllü) and Cafer Efendi (Zeki Alpan), a heavy-handed local judge who torments the people of Akşehir. When the judge has the dancer Şehnaz's (İnci Birol) lover Ceylan Recep (Tamer Balcı) thrown in jail on a pretext, the Hoca outwits him with a scheme of his own, while a secondary romance unfolds between the Hoca's son Firuz and a notable's daughter.
