Price of Love (Interdit de séjour)

Interdit de séjour, known in English as The Price of Love, is a 1955 French crime film directed by Maurice de Canonge. Shot in black and white in French, it runs about 83 minutes and was released in Germany as Ich wurde zum Verräter. André Héléna and Jean Rossignol wrote the screenplay, and the sets were designed by the art director Maurice Colasson.

At the centre of the film is a young man shunned by those around him. Forced to withdraw into himself, he tries to give his life some direction in a world where he is entirely alone, and begins to look for help in the criminal underworld. Claude Laydu plays him, under the name Pierre Ménard. Joëlle Bernard is Suzy, Pierre Destailles is Jojo and Daniel Cauchy is Palo. The cast also includes Renaud Mary, Arlette Merry, Clara Tambour, Jean Clarens, Liliane Bert, René Havard, Henri Crémieux, Robert Dalban and Michel Piccoli.
