The Spy

The Spy is a 2019 espionage miniseries written and directed by Gideon Raff, dramatizing the true story of legendary Mossad agent Eli Cohen. Produced by France's Légende Films for Canal+ and Netflix and filmed largely in Casablanca, the six-episode series follows Cohen — played by Sacha Baron Cohen, whose performance earned a Golden Globe nomination — as he infiltrates Damascus in the early 1960s and rises through Syria's political elite before being uncovered and executed. It draws on Uri Dan and Yeshayahu Ben Porat's book The Spy Who Came from Israel, and also features Turkish-German actor Tim Seyfi.
