Trapped by Fear

Trapped by Fear (original French title Les Distractions) is a 1960 French-Italian crime film directed by Jacques Dupont. Shot in French, it was scripted by Roger Ribadeau-Dumas and Jean Bassan. The film is headlined by Jean-Paul Belmondo, then at the start of a career that would soon make him one of the most recognizable stars of French cinema, with Alexandra Stewart, Sylva Koscina and Claude Brasseur also among the cast. Claude Chabrol, far better known for his own work behind the camera, appears here as an actor. In France the picture sold around 955,000 tickets. It is remembered today mainly as one of Belmondo's early screen roles and as an example of the French crime film of its period.
