Zafer Ergin — Biography

Zafer Ergin (born 30 August 1942, Istanbul) is a Turkish stage, film and television actor and voice artist. A graduate of the Art History Department of Ankara University's Faculty of Languages, History and Geography, he began acting at the Ankara Deneme Sahnesi theatre.

Having appeared in productions such as Çalıkuşu (1986), Yaprak Dökümü (1987) and Deli Yürek (2001), he became widely known as Mehmet Karahanlı in the series Kurtlar Vadisi (2003). Since 2006 he has played Rıza Baba in Arka Sokaklar. His film roles include Güneşi Gördüm (2009), New York'ta Beş Minare (2010), Sümela'nın Şifresi: Temel (2011) and Prestij Meselesi (2022). After overcoming a brief health issue in 2026, the veteran actor remained in the news with his remarks about the future of Arka Sokaklar.
