Filiz Ahmet — Biography

Born in Skopje, Filiz Ahmet comes from an ethnic-Turkish family in Macedonia and is the granddaughter of theatre artist Lütfü Seyfullah. She graduated from the Theatre Department of the Skopje Academy of Fine Arts in 2003 and joined the Skopje Turkish Theatre. Besides Turkish, she speaks Macedonian, Albanian, Swedish, English, Serbian and some Bulgarian.

Between 2007 and 2009 she introduced herself to Turkish audiences as Zarife in Elveda Rumeli, then achieved her greatest fame playing Nigar Kalfa in Muhteşem Yüzyıl (2011). She went on to appear in Ruhumun Aynası (2014) and Hayat Şarkısı (2016), and joined the cast of Balkan Ninnisi in 2022.

She has also appeared on screen in films such as Aşk Tutulması (2008) and Sonsuz Aşk (2017), and won a Sadri Alışık award and a Dadaş Film Festival prize for her performance in Kadın İşi: Banka Soygunu (2014), while continuing her stage work at the Skopje Turkish Theatre.
