Gamze Topuz — Biography

Gamze Topuz was born on 8 October 1983 in Istanbul; her family comes from the Arhavi district of Artvin. She studied Television and Journalism at Istanbul Bilgi University and also trained in theatre at Türvak.

She began acting in 2004 with En İyi Arkadaşım, then appeared in Beşinci Boyut (2005) and played Zeynep in Doktorlar (2007), followed by the film SüpüRRR (2009) and the series Aşk ve Ceza and Türk Malı (2010). After Mavi Kelebekler (2011), Güzel Çirkin and Cesur Hemşire (2013), Evli ve Öfkeli (2015) and Aşk Laftan Anlamaz (2016), she played Birtanem in Hayat Bazen Tatlıdır and took a role in Erkenci Kuş in 2018.

Known mainly for supporting female roles, and a hostess on the game show Çarkıfelek in 2010, Topuz has also worked behind the camera as a casting director; she appeared in the series Sipahi in 2022 and the film Bugün Güzel in 2025. She married and later separated from actor Ümit Kantarcılar, and her long, on-and-off relationship with actor Tümer Metin returned to the headlines in 2026.
