A Slice of Life (Bizim Zamanlarımız)

A Slice of Life (Italian: Tempi nostri; French: Quelques pas dans la vie) is a 1954 Italian-French comedy directed jointly by Alessandro Blasetti and Paul Paviot, with Lux Film behind the production. Built as an anthology, it strings together several self-contained episodes, most of them shot by Blasetti while Paviot handled one sketch of his own.

The segments turn on the small comedies of ordinary living: a tale titled Don Corradino, the misadventures of penniless young lovers, a misunderstanding sparked by a photo camera, an outdoor scene, the fuss over a kiss, chaos caused by a baby, and sketches known as Mara and "Excuse me, but...".

Marcello Mastroianni, Alberto Sordi, François Périer and Guido Celano head the ensemble, while such period luminaries as Vittorio De Sica, Sophia Loren, Totò, Yves Montand and Michel Simon pop up across the different episodes.
