Crime on a Summer Morning

Crime on a Summer Morning (original French title: Par un beau matin d'été) is a 1965 French-Italian crime film directed by Jacques Deray and headlined by Jean-Paul Belmondo. The picture adapts One Bright Summer Morning, a 1963 novel by British thriller writer James Hadley Chase, with the screenplay credited to Chase, Deray and celebrated dialogue writer Michel Audiard. Alongside Belmondo, the cast features Sophie Daumier, Geraldine Chaplin, Gabriele Ferzetti, Akim Tamiroff and Adolfo Celi. The production holds a notable place in French genre cinema as the first of four collaborations between Deray and Belmondo, a partnership that would go on to shape the director's career in crime filmmaking.
