Claude Cerval — Biography

Claude Cerval (born André Marcel Gabriel Leloup) was born on February 21, 1921, in the 18th arrondissement of Paris and died on July 25, 1972, also in Paris. A noted character actor of French cinema, he appeared in more than forty films between 1955 and 1971.

He entered cinema with “Bob le Flambeur” (1956), followed by “Le Beau Serge” (1958) and “Kuzenler” (1959), before appearing in classics such as “Classe Tous Risques” (1960) and “Germinal” (1963). Later in his career he appeared in “Any Number Can Win” (1963), “Crime on a Summer Morning” (1965), “The Woman is a Stranger” (1968), and “Samanyolu” (1969), rounding out his filmography with the 1971 films “Angel’s Leap” and “To Die of Love.”
