Everybody Go Home

Everybody Go Home (originally Tutti a casa) is a 1960 Italian-French comedy-drama and war film directed by Luigi Comencini. It belongs to the broader tradition of Italian cinema depicting the chaos that followed the Allied invasion of Italy and the double occupation of September 1943, and it is regarded as one of the most famous examples of the commedia all'italiana genre. Alberto Sordi took the starring role; according to the sources, Nino Manfredi was rejected for the part because Sordi wanted it for himself.

The 117-minute film was co-written by Age & Scarpelli, Marcello Fondato and Comencini, with a score by Angelo Francesco Lavagnino. Its international cast includes the American actors Martin Balsam and Alex Nicol alongside the Franco-Italian Serge Reggiani. The picture won the jury prize at the Moscow Film Festival and earned two David di Donatello awards, for Sordi and for producer Dino De Laurentiis. In 2008 it was included in the Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage's list of 100 Italian films to be preserved.
