For Whom the Hearts Beat
For Whom the Hearts Beat (Persian: برای که قلبها میتپد) is a 1971 Iranian romantic drama film, made in the Persian year 1350. It was directed by Iraj Ghaderi from a screenplay by Saeed Motalebi. Shot in Persian, the film belongs to the melodramatic tradition of early 1970s Iranian cinema and tells a story of love and emotional conflict. The principal cast includes Beyk Imanverdi, Arman, Iran Ghaderi and Pouri Banayi, with Ashraf Kashani and Jamshid Mehrdad also appearing. Bringing together several of the leading screen performers of pre-revolutionary Iran, it stands as a typical example of the popular melodramas produced by the country's film industry in that period.
