Le Corps de mon ennemi
Directed by Henri Verneuil and adapted from Félicien Marceau's novel of the same name, the 1976 French-Italian crime drama Le Corps de mon ennemi stars Jean-Paul Belmondo. After serving seven years in prison for a double murder he did not commit, François Leclercq returns to Cournai, his hometown in the Lille region, a town entirely devoted to the textile industry. He has only one goal: to untangle the dark affair, expose those who pulled the strings of the scheme that destroyed his life, and take revenge for the years lost behind bars. Digging into the town's entrenched textile bourgeoisie, Leclercq hunts down the real killers and gradually pieces together the plot of which he knows he was the victim. The screenplay is credited to Henri Verneuil, Michel Audiard and Félicien Marceau.
