Les Vierges

Les Vierges is a 1963 French-Italian comedy-drama directed by Jean-Pierre Mocky. The film follows the loosely intertwined stories of five young women on the verge of losing their virginity. Its structure sits somewhere between an anthology of sketches and an ensemble film: a character from each episode reappears in the next one, in the manner of La Ronde, handing over the narrative thread and chaining the episodes together. The cast includes Stefania Sandrelli, Yves Rénier, Dominique Zardi, Henri Attal, Michel Peyrelon and Philippe Brizard, alongside well-known French performers of the era such as Charles Aznavour and Jean Poiret.
