Operation Corned Beef

Operation Corned Beef (original title: L'Opération Corned-Beef) is a 1991 French action comedy directed by Jean-Marie Poiré, who co-wrote the screenplay with Christian Clavier. Filmed during the summer of 1990, it was released in France on 6 February 1991.

The story follows a pair of secret agents involved in a covert operation codenamed 'Corned Beef', investigating Colonel Zargas, who has become an arms dealer. Christian Clavier plays Jean-Jacques Granianski, while Jean Reno portrays Philippe Boulier, nicknamed 'the Shark'. The fifth collaboration between Poiré and Clavier, the Gaumont production was also the first film to unite Clavier, Reno and Valérie Lemercier on screen — two years before their success in Les Visiteurs. The film runs 107 minutes.
