The Visitors II: The Corridors of Time
Les Couloirs du temps : Les Visiteurs 2, released internationally as The Visitors II: The Corridors of Time, is a 1998 French fantasy comedy and the direct sequel to the 1993 hit Les Visiteurs, picking up right where the first film ended. Directed by Jean-Marie Poiré, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Christian Clavier, it follows the medieval knight Godefroy and his loyal servant Jacquouille as they become entangled in fresh mishaps while travelling through the corridors of time. Jean Reno and Christian Clavier return in the lead roles, while Muriel Robin takes over the part of Béatrice, previously played by Valérie Lemercier. The film broke the French opening-day record, drawing around 2.7 million admissions in its first week and selling more than eight million tickets overall, making it the second highest-grossing French production of 1998. Even so, its worldwide earnings amounted to only about a quarter of the original's total, and reviews were mixed, with some critics pointing to cast changes and heavy product placement. A third installment arrived in 2016, closing the trilogy.
