The Lebanese Mission

The Lebanese Mission (original French title La Châtelaine du Liban) is a 1956 French-Italian adventure thriller directed by Richard Pottier. Shot in Eastmancolor, it adapts Pierre Benoit's 1924 novel of the same name. The leading roles are played by Jean-Claude Pascal, Gianna Maria Canale, Jean Servais and Luciana Paluzzi, while Omar Sharif appears in one of his earliest screen parts.

Art director Rino Mondellini designed the film's sets, and location work was carried out around Le Grau-du-Roi in the south of France. Running about 105 minutes, the picture is a sound-era, color retelling of a story that had already reached the screen in earlier adaptations.
