Kemal the Razor (Ustura Kemal) (translated)

Ustura Kemal is a Turkish drama and historical television series produced by Süreç Film and inspired by a true story. Premiering on Show TV on September 4, 2012, it stars Oktay Kaynarca, Naz Elmas, and Emre Kınay. The series was pulled from the schedule after its 14th episode, which aired on December 8, 2012.

Set in Istanbul in the final years of the Ottoman Empire, the story follows Ustura Kemal, a patriotic and honorable tough guy. After an incident at the 1913 Hıdrellez festivities, in which he slashes a man's face with the razor that becomes his symbol, he lands in prison. Years later, in 1918, Istanbul is under occupation and Gülnaz, the woman he loves, has married someone else. Escaping from prison to defend his neighborhood, Kemal gradually becomes a fighter resisting the occupation.
