Daughters of the Sun (Güneşin Kızları) (translated)

Güneşin Kızları is a Turkish television series that debuted on Kanal D on June 18, 2015, produced by Süreç Film. Directed by Sadullah Celen and written by Deniz Dargı, Cenk Boğatur and Cem Görgeç, the show blends drama, romance, family and comedy elements. It ended on March 19, 2016 after a single season of 39 episodes, and one episode earned the series the Best Series award at the Altın Kelebek ceremony.

The story begins when Güneş, a 35-year-old literature teacher raising three daughters on her own after being abandoned by her husband, receives a marriage proposal from the wealthy Haluk Mertoğlu. One of her daughters opposes the union, pulling the family into a chain of unexpected events. Emre Kınay, Evrim Alasya, Tolga Sarıtaş, Burcu Özberk, Hande Erçel, Berk Atan and Miray Akay headline the cast; the series was also dubbed into Arabic and broadcast on MBC4.
