Cem Davran — Biography

Born Muharrem Cem Davran on March 3, 1964, in Istanbul's Kasımpaşa district, the actor is the son of Mehmet Davran, a longtime staffer of the Istanbul City Theatres. After graduating in electrical engineering from Yıldız Technical University, he began his film career at just 14, appearing in "Taşı Toprağı Altın Şehir" in 1978 and sharing the lead role in "Yusuf ile Kenan" the following year.

He went on to build a filmography spanning "Kahpe Bizans," "Balalayka" (2000, as Hasan), the series "Ruhsar" (as Mazhar), and "Aşk Meydan Savaşı" (2002, as Rıza), before reaching wider audiences with the comedy franchise "Karakomik Filmler" (2019) and the BluTV series "Yarım Kalan Aşklar" (2020). In 2023 he played Orhan in the film "Hayat" and Turan Öztürk in the series "Bambaşka Biri," returning to television in 2024 with "39 Derecede Aşk."

In 2026 he took on a role in "İstanbul Hatırası," the series adaptation of Ahmet Ümit's novel, continuing a long career in which he has generally kept his private life out of the press.
