Özgür Ozan — Biography

Born on 5 January 1966 in Bolu, Özgür Ozan finished his primary and secondary schooling at Ankara Cumhuriyet High School and gained early stage experience with amateur theatre groups; he also played professional basketball until 1985 before graduating from the Acting Department of the Faculty of Fine Arts at Dokuz Eylül University.

After performing with companies such as the İzmir State Theatre, the İzmir Children's Theatre, the International Theatre Company and the Bursa State Theatre, Ozan earned wider recognition on screen through the character Selami in the 2002 series Çocuklar Duymasın, a role that marked a turning point in his career.

Since 2006 he has portrayed Chief Inspector Hüsnü Çoban in the Kanal D series Arka Sokaklar, remaining part of the cast into 2026 and commenting on the show's future as its season finale was filmed in Cappadocia. In February 2026, he also reunited with his former on-screen son, actor Alp Eren Khamis, more than two decades after their work together on Çocuklar Duymasın.
