From Cumba to Rumba (Cumbadan Rumbaya) (translated)

Cumbadan Rumbaya is an adaptation of a 1936 novel published by Peyami Safa under the pseudonym Server Bedi. The story was first brought to the screen in 1960 as a feature film directed by Turgut Demirağ, starring Çolpan İlhan and Vahi Öz.

The novel was adapted again in 2005, this time for television, airing as a three-episode mini-series. This TV version features veteran actors Halit Akçatepe and Selda Alkor alongside Arzu Yanardağ. Produced in Turkey, the series stands as the television incarnation of Peyami Safa's work, decades after its first cinematic treatment.
