Sadri Alışık — Biography

Sadri Alışık, born Mehmet Sadrettin Alışık on 5 April 1925 in Istanbul, died in the same city on 18 March 1995. He is remembered as one of the most beloved comic actors in Turkish cinema, appearing in more than two hundred films over his career. From 1964 onward he became closely identified with the character Turist Ömer, and he was equally known for playing Ofsayt Osman. He took on roles across many genres in pictures such as Çakırcalı Mehmet Efe, Yalnızlar Rıhtımı and Avare, and later reached television audiences through the series Kartallar Yüksek Uçar.
