Goodbye (Allaha Ismarladık) (translated)

Allaha Ismarladık is a 1951 Turkish film produced by Lale Film, adapted from Esat Mahmut Karakurt's novel and written and directed by Sami Ayanoğlu. Shot by cinematographer Kriton İlyadis with a score by Şerif Gürmeriç, the 112-minute film belongs to the wave of historical dramas set during the Turkish War of Independence.

The story follows members of the Kuvay-ı Milliye resistance smuggling weapons and ammunition from occupied Istanbul to Anatolia, caught between the occupying forces and collaborating Ottoman officials; at its center is a romance between Betty (Gülistan Güzey), the daughter of the occupying commander, and Captain İzzet, who sacrifices even his own collaborator brother-in-law for his country. The cast includes Refik Kemal Arduman as General Thomson, Reşit Gürzap as Miralay, and Sadri Alışık — later one of Yeşilçam's most beloved stars — as Mülazım Tafti.
