The Lonely Ones' Quay (Yalnızlar Rıhtımı)

Yalnızlar Rıhtımı ("The Lonely Ones' Quay") is a 1959 Turkish drama/romance film directed by Ömer Lütfi Akad, one of the pioneering figures of Turkish cinema, and produced by İhsan İpekçi for İpek Film. The screenplay was written by the poet Attilâ İlhan under the pen name "Ali Kaptanoğlu."

The story follows a love triangle involving Güner (Çolpan İlhan), a nightclub hostess kept by the currency-smuggling bar owner Ali (Turgut Özatay), and ship captain Rıdvan (Sadri Alışık); some scenes were shot on location in İzmir. Osman Alyanak also appears in the cast.

On release, the film's poetic style sparked debate: some critics praised it while others were harshly dismissive, and its script was said to echo Marcel Carné's French film Port of Shadows (Le Quai des Brumes). The film's title song, sung by Çolpan İlhan and composed by Necdet Koyutürk, became one of its most memorable elements. Co-stars Sadri Alışık and Çolpan İlhan fell in love during the shoot and married soon after, remaining together until Alışık's death in 1995.
