Istanbul Nights (İstanbul Geceleri) (translated)

İstanbul Geceleri ("Istanbul Nights") is a 1950 black-and-white Turkish film directed by Mehmet Muhtar from a screenplay by Abidin Doran and Turgut Demirağ, who also produced it for And Film; cinematography was by Cezmi Ar and the score by Kadri Şençalar. The film opened in Turkish theaters on April 9, 1950.

The story follows two small-town friends who are swept onto an Istanbul-bound train while seeing off a companion, then get drawn into the city's nightlife and entangled with a con man running a fake-relative scheme in the gazino scene. Blending comedy, musical numbers, and drama, the film casts Sadri Alışık as a jealous former suitor and Osman Alyanak as the scheming impostor, while celebrated vocalists of the day, Hamiyet Yüceses and Müzeyyen Senar, appear as themselves performing period songs.
