Earthquake (Deprem) (translated)

Deprem (Earthquake) is a 1976 Turkish drama film directed by Şerif Gören. Written by Safa Önal, scored by Cahit Berkay, and shot by cinematographer Erdoğan Engin, the 88-minute film was produced by Akün Film.

The story follows Ahmet, who returns to his home village years later after his father's death, planning to sell off his father's property and grow rich. There he falls for Zeynep, but Zeynep, feeling it is time to marry, agrees to wed the blacksmith Rıza instead. When Ahmet abducts Zeynep to stop the wedding, Rıza sets out for revenge, and disaster awaits all three. The leads are played by Türkan Şoray (as Zeynep) and Kadir İnanır (as Ahmet), while the role of Rıza Usta is played by Iranian actor Naser Malek Motiee, credited on our site as Nasır Melek.
