The Lucky Laborer (Talihli Amele) (translated)

Talihli Amele is a 1980 Turkish film directed by Atıf Yılmaz. It is known as a socially minded comedy that touches on the lives of workers and the contradictions of the capitalist system through a humorous lens.

The story revolves around Mehmet Ali, a laborer working on a construction site in Istanbul. A photograph taken by a crew that arrives at the site to shoot an advertisement drags his life in a direction he never expected; impressed by his face, an advertising executive wants to turn this ordinary worker into the face of his campaign. Yet this sudden luck also brings Mehmet Ali a new set of troubles.

İlyas Salman portrays Mehmet Ali, with Hümeyra starring opposite him. The cast also features names such as Erdal Özyağcılar, Salih Kalyon, and Yalçın Avşar.
