Saadet Aksoy

Saadet Aksoy — Biography

Saadet Aksoy's parents both had careers in policing -- her father as a chief and her mother as an inspector -- and she grew up with two older brothers. Her first name came from a paternal grandmother, Münire Şahinbaş, whom she never met but has described in interviews as one of Turkey's first female business magnates. She studied English at Boğaziçi University's language and literature department, trained further at the New York Film Academy, and on stage in Istanbul took part in a Turkish staging of Steel Magnolias and in Mark Ravenhill's Shoot/Get Treasure/Repeat.

She played Selma in the 2019 film Passed by Censor and took a part in Iguana Tokyo, then appeared in Şahmaran and Asaf in 2024. By mid-2025 she had taken over the role of Gülbahar Hatun, previously played by Esila Umut across two seasons, opposite Serkan Çayoğlu in season three of Mehmed: Fetihler Sultanı.

Her twelve-year marriage to Pamir Kıraner quietly ended in divorce in March 2026, and she continues to take on new projects.
