Dash Akol

Dash Akol is a 1971 Iranian black-and-white drama film written and directed by Masoud Kimiai. It is adapted from the short story of the same name by Sadegh Hedayat, published in his collection Three Drops of Blood, and stands as Kimiai's fourth feature film. The Persian-language production has a runtime of 99 minutes.

Starring Behruz Vüsuki, Zhaleh Olov and Bahman Mofid, the film was chosen as one of the finest works in the history of Iranian cinema in a poll of critics and writers conducted by Film magazine. A new adaptation of the same story, also titled Dash Akol and directed by Mohammad Arab, was made in 2017.
