Zhaleh Olov — Biography

Zhaleh Olov, born Shokat Olov, was an Iranian film actress, dubbing artist, dubbing director and poet; also known in Turkish sources as Jale Alev, she was born on 6 August 1927 in the Sangelaj neighborhood of Tehran and died on 23 December 2024 in the same city. She began her career in radio and film in 1948 and moved into stage acting the following year. As one of the pioneers of dubbing in Iran, she voiced characters in the first Persian-dubbed releases of Walt Disney films such as Cinderella, Pinocchio, Sleeping Beauty, One Hundred and One Dalmatians, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, and The Aristocats. On screen, her credits include Dash Akol, Ghalandar, The Window, and Broken Spell. She was honored with the Order of Culture and Art for her work.
