Hacı Murat is Coming (Hacı Murat Geliyor) (translated)

This 1968 Turkish historical adventure film was written and directed by Natuk Baytan and stars Cüneyt Arkın, Nebahat Çehre and Erol Taş. When Sheikh Shamil changes his plans, he must warn the Khan at the Russian headquarters, so he entrusts Hacı Murat with the mission. Traveling through Russian territory under a false identity, Hacı Murat is exposed while passing through the village where his mother lives. The Russian Colonel Ivan seizes the letter he is carrying, takes him prisoner, and assumes his identity in order to set a trap for the Khan and his entire headquarters. Escaping captivity, Hacı Murat sets out to stop Ivan and foil his scheme. Shot in black and white on 16 mm, the film premiered on 7 October 1968 at the Lâle cinema in Istanbul.
