Heart Wound (Yürek Yarası) (translated)

Yürek Yarası (Heart Wound) is a 1982 Turkish drama film directed by Orhan Elmas from a screenplay by Memduh Ün. Produced by Uğur Film, the color film runs 84 minutes and features music by Cahit Berkay.

The story follows Davut, a raftman who makes his living on the river and loves Zeynep, one of the village's most beautiful girls. Zeynep's heart, however, belongs to Mustafa, the son of Haydar Ağa, and her father Recep's heavy debt to the agha makes the match convenient. When Davut hears that Haydar Ağa plans to ask for Zeynep's hand, he abducts her during a village wedding; learning that she loves Mustafa, he lets her go, but her reputation is stained and Haydar Ağa refuses to accept her as a bride.

Kadir İnanır plays Davut and Serpil Çakmaklı plays Zeynep, supported by familiar performers of the era including Reha Yurdakul, Aliye Rona, Talat Gözbak, Bülent Bilgiç, and Sami Hazinses.
