Henry Djanik — Biography

Henry Djanik, born Arthur Djanikian, was a French actor of Armenian descent, born on 21 March 1926 in Varna, Bulgaria, and died on 18 August 2008 in Le Perreux-sur-Marne, France. Alongside his screen acting career he became one of the most recognizable voices in French dubbing. He regularly provided the French voice for Anthony Quinn across most of his films and for Telly Savalas in a well-known detective series, and he also voiced a muscle-bound character in a popular action-adventure series. He was active in animation dubbing as well, lending his voice to a warrior character in a Japanese cartoon and to a gloomy donkey character in a long-running children's animation. Beyond his dubbing work, he also appeared as an actor in film and television productions across a long career in French popular entertainment.
