Luc Andrieux — Biography

Luc Andrieux was a French actor who worked in small and supporting parts and also behind the camera as an assistant director. He is remembered above all for 400 Darbe (The 400 Blows, 1959), one of the landmark films of François Truffaut and the French New Wave, in which he appeared alongside Jeanne Moreau.

His career began in the mid-1940s. In the early 1950s he played the bruiteur, the sound-effects man, in Le Huitième Art et la Manière (1952), Maurice in Cet homme est dangereux (1953) and a coachman in Le Chevalier de la nuit. Over the next two decades he turned up in productions such as Madelon, La Cité de l'indicible peur (1964), Solo (1970) and Un linceul n'a pas de poches (1974); his filmography runs to about twenty-five titles.

He died in Paris on 26 November 1977.
